It is the start of November and it is time for a new release of Komment™. Once again there are a lot of great stuff both for the end users and the Qlik developers. Read on to learn what you can expect from the best Qlik Sense writeback solution out there.
One of the best thing about using Qlik Sense is the intuitive search and selection functionality. Ever since we launched Komment™ 2.0 where the Table mode was introduced, we have wanted to improve the selection options. And what better way to do that than allowing for the native Qlik Sense search and selection interface.
As the video shows, version 2.2 provides Komment™ users with fully native Qlik functionality when filtering and selecting in the data. All selections made are naturally reflected in the rest of the Qlik Sense application.
Even though a former Qlik CTO said that "...an angel loses its wings each time someone exports to Excel" we have still found it relevant to include this feature. As you can see in the below video it is just a click of a button and the formatting of the table is actually kept. Also the freezing of columns is kept after export to Excel.
We know from our own experience that tables always tend to contain too many columns to be visible at the same time. That means you have to scroll a lot to see all your data. To improve the user experience in the Komment table, it is now possible to select which columns to freeze when you scroll horizontally. As you can see it gives a much better experience when working with wide tables and the user always knows the relevant content for the records he is viewing.
It is now also possible for you to style the Komment object when using it in Table mode. You can style both the header and the cells. As with all other things in Komment, you can use your well-known Qlik expressions to control the styling.
Besides making the table look great it can also be very helpful for the end users with different colors of the columns in the table. In that way it is straightforward to see which columns are editable and which are read only.
The ability to color the cell background and text based on conditions is also available now. Use values, functions, etc. to give the end user the information and visual overview they need to get their jobs done.
You can now style your input Form to a much larger degree than previously:
With these options you can make each form its very own an provide a great experience for the users entering data directly in their dashboards.
We are not quite finished yet. There are more very useful features in version 2.2 that are worth to mention here.
Thanks for reading this update. If you haven't already tried out Komment go ahead and sign up for a free trial using any of the sign-up forms on the site. You can also go to the product page if you want to learn more - take a look at it right here.
