Komment™ 2.1 preview

Many great features to come in version 2.1

The feedback we have gotten from users after we released Komment 2.0 back in March has been nothing short of amazing. Users are in particular pleased with just how little effort it takes to get a fully functioning app with writeback functionality working. Our decision to have two extensions in one has also been nicely received. To switch between Form mode and Table mode is literally just a click of a button.

So you might think that we have only minor updates to present in version 2.1, right? But read on here to see if that is really the case.

Writeback to database

It is no secret that we have a lot of love for QVD files and that is why that has always been our preferred data storage format. And it still is. However, many of our customers have asked us if we could enhance Komment so it will be possible to save data in a database as well. We are very happy to let you know that together with version 2.1 we will release a new service called Kaptain. Kaptain will in this very first version allow users to save data in a MS SQL database. The database writeback is just a small fraction of what Kaptain will offer of features as we continue to extend it. We promise you that Kaptain will bring a lot to the writeback table in the months to come.

Add and Remove rows

Sometimes things don't have to be so hard. We have therefore made it possible to both add and remove records in your Komment table. This can come in very handy when you want to replace Excel or Google Sheets as your data entry solution. In this way you can start with the data you already have and just keep adding records directly within your Qlik Sense app.

Again, we have made it easy for you to use this new feature. Just add a button from the setup panel and you can start to add new records to your data. No extra scripting or setup needed.

Other very useful features

If the above additions to Komment aren't enough to get you excited then these last ones might:

• Sorting and filtering is now possible in fields in the Komment table
• Expressions/Measures can now be used anywhere inside the Komment table
• User permissions can now be set directly in the Komment configuration
